Mexico: A Poem

Mexico
by me

I want to taste the ocean
on your lips and whisper
quiero hacer el amor a tú
now let my body translate that for you

I could be your desperado
a thief in the night, stealing
the breath from your lungs
exploring your chest with my tongue

Rocking back and forth
my pelvis grinds against your hips
faster now, your thrusts increase
my hands gripping sheets, I join your release

I hold you between moist thighs, rest a cheek
across your beating breast and must confess
necesito perder mí mismo en tú
now let my body translate that for you

Lalla

Selected Writings of Lalla

Playfully, you hid from me.
All day I looked.

Then I discovered
I was you,

and the celebration
of That began.

---

When my mind was cleansed of impurities, like a mirror of its dust and dirt,
I recognized the Self in me:
When I saw Him dwelling in me,
I realized that He was the Everything and I was nothing.

---

I didn't trust it for a moment,
but I drank it anyway,
the wine of my own poetry.

It gave me the daring to take hold
of the darkness and tear it down
and cut it into little pieces.
